Ceres Rail Company brings you the stunning Table Bay Sundowner – A Steam train trip to take in the beautiful sunset over Table Bay, Table Mountain, and Robben Island. Hop aboard our historic passenger train!
The journey begins at 18h00 (passengers to arrive between 17h00 and 18h00) from the platform at the AC Hotel by Marriot, Dockrail Road, Foreshore, Cape Town. Once aboard you will enjoy a rail journey through Table Bay Harbour and out along the Atlantic Ocean, stopping to view the sunset over Table Bay.
Guests are treated to a welcome drink, as well as a second drink once the train has departed. An assortment of finger-food snacks are also included.
We have a fully licensed bar on board (additional drinks for payable by card or cash).
We arrive back at the departure point between 19h45 and 20h00.We are so excited to have you on board!

Table Bay Sundowner (Maiden) Cruise with Ceres Rail Company!! This is the inaugural journey of Table Bay Sundowner marking its initial trip into service! It was a very foggy night. With no sunset to watch. But what a journey/experience it was. It certainly was not about the anticipated sunset but rather the valued fun and good fellowship that cemented the railroad enthusiats as a community. I booked a single ticket to experience this maiden journey but not for one second did I feel alone. The staff filled up our glasses and kept the snacks coming. The main 'meal' was to die for. A huge charcuterie platter did its rounds several times. Such value for money. There were several artists, a violinist, a saxophonist and singers on board. What a night. What a party! Thoroughly enjoyed the Ceres Rail Sundowner even though the weather failed to co-operate and the mist ensured there was no view at all! The CR crew were welcoming and professional, the train was comfortable and we were very well looked after with the drinks and snacks included in the price of the ticket. It resulted in a happy and positive atmosphere on board throughout the evening. - Rob
